ABOUT US PLASTER IT YOURSELF
So a little bit about us. Plaster It Yourself offers plastering and rendering courses in Scotland. We are based in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, a few miles from the town of Blairgowrie, Plaster It Yourself offers plastering and rendering instruction for the DIYer, renovator and self-builder.
1 DAY COURSE
Our 1 day taster course is structured to give you a brief hands on experience. Get to grips with the tools and experiencing the art of plastering. This is a great way to discover if this is the career path you wish to take.
2 DAY COURSE
Our 2 day plastering course concentrates on the art of skimming over freshly boarded walls and previously plastered walls. Also learn about patching and repairs.
2 AND 3 DAY LIME PLASTERING COURSES
Over 2 or 3 days on our lime plastering course, using hydraulic lime, learn how to mix, apply to various materials and finish. This breatheable lime based plaster is ideal for renovations
3 AND 5 DAY COURSES
Our 3 day courses and 5 day intensive plastering courses will teach you how to plaster walls and ceilings. All courses show you how to deal with window reveals and corner beading. We will show you how to deal with the most common problems that may arise when plastering. The 5-day course gives you plenty of time to practice your new skills without worrying about the mess! Our 5 day plastering and rendering course will not only teach you plastering but you can also try your hand at rendering .
3 AND 4 DAY SIMPLY SKIMMING COURSES
Our Intensive 3 day simply skimming course and 4 day simply skimming course will teach you how to skim walls and ceilings. Ideally suited to those who already are able to put up plasterboard and beading and cut out for sockets and switches. This course concentrates on skimming and just that! 3 or 4 days of tackling walls and ceilings working your way up in size.
10 DAY COURSE
Our 10 day course is a very thorough course, suitable for anyone and everyone, no matter what their experience. Ideal for those maybe looking for a change in career paths or those needing practice at tacking larger areas. Ideal for whole house projects for self builders and renovators in order to become more confident. The course includes plastering and rendering but If you don’t want to learn the art of rendering then just let us know. On these occasions, the Tutor will just concentrate on plastering with you.
WEEKEND AND DOUBLE WEEKEND COURSES
At Plaster It Yourself we appreciate that not everyone can book time off or be available during the week. To ensure maximum availablity we offer a weekend course . Weekend courses are available as one or double weekend course.
The weekend course is the same content as the two day weekday course whereas the double weekend course follows the content of the 5 day plastering only course, just with 1 less day of practice.

“ONE TO ONE” ON SITE TUITION
At certain times during the year, we offer the opportunity for a ‘one to one’ week (Monday to Friday) . This is where the instructor will come to you with a view to teaching you in your self build or renovation project. These courses enable you to learn and work under supervision and leave you with the skills to continue on with your work. We do not offer formal qualifications, these courses are aimed at the DIYer, self-builder renovator or simply just those who have always just fancied ‘a go’.
Extra days can be booked, subject to availability. If you feel that you would like to spend another day with us.
We cater for a maximum of 3 people at a time on any one day. You will never be overcrowded and have plenty of room to learn your skills and fulfil your potential.
