2 AND 3 DAY LIME PLASTERING COURSES
Over 2 or 3 days on our lime plastering course, using hydraulic lime, learn how to mix, apply to various materials and finish. This breatheable lime based plaster is ideal for renovations.
This breathable lime based plaster is great for renovations. Lime plaster is not only ideal for renovation but also heritage and conservation or sustainable builds using natural materials. In addition it can be a great benefit in newer buildings as the levels of air tightness and insulation are ever increasing which contribute to condensation which can ultimately contribute to the formation of mould
Hydraulic Lime Plaster is quick setting and easy to use. It passively improves indoor air quality and absorbs pollutant. Because it is both breathable and hygroscopic, it is proven to reduce the risk of mould and condensation.
The 3 day course is better suited to those with no experience of using a trowel and hawk as the first day will concentrate on the hawk and trowel skill teaching you to get the plaster efficiently from the bucket or spot to the wall, The following two days will then concentrate on the lime plasteing
3 AND 4 DAY SKIMMING COURSE
On our Intensive 3 and 4 day simply skimming course you will learn how to skim walls and ceilings. If you can put up plasterboard and beading and cut out for sockets and switches, then the course is ideal for you.
Because the course content contains no boarding, you will concentrate on skimming and just that! During the 3 or 4 days, you will work your way towards larger walls and ceilings by the end of your course.

5 Day Plastering and Rendering Course
- Cut and fix plasterboard to ceiling, walls and window reveals
- Skim plasterboard walls and top coat render block walls
- PVA ceiling and re-skim
- Learn how to patch holes in plasterboard walls
- Have a go at plastering a “room size” bay ideal for confidence building
5 day intensive plastering course
Our Intensive 5 day plastering course will teach you how to board and skim walls and ceilings. Broadly similar to the three day course but with extra walls and ceilings to plaster and the opportunity to tackle the “big wall”. Practice makes perfect!
10 DAY PLASTERING AND RENDERING COURSE
The longest of our plastering courses is the 10 day course.
Our 10 day course will teach you all the skills of the 5 day course but involves more hands on experience with bigger walls and ceilings to plaster and a larger wall to render. If you want to concentrate on just plastering then let us know and we will tailor the course to suit your requirements.
Learn how to:
- Cut and fix plasterboard and fit back boxes
- Cut and fix beading
- Render on block
- Skim over new plasterboard and over old plaster
- Plaster on rendered wall
- Put up coving and patch repair
- Move on to the larger room sized bay and spot and dab board onto block wall and plaster the larger walls and ceiling.
- Learn how to render a garden wall and hard wall and plaster a fireplace opening
- Practice, practice and more practice!
